William Garrett (Alabama politician)

William Garrett (1854 – 1921) was an American politician and lawyer from the state of Alabama. He served as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives and the Alabama Senate. Garrett was born in Coosa County, Alabama, and studied law at the University of Alabama. He was admitted to the bar in 1875.

Garrett began his political career in the Alabama House of Representatives, representing Coosa County. He later served in the Alabama Senate, representing the 13th senatorial district. He was a prominent figure in the Democratic Party and was known for his advocacy for agricultural interests and education.

Beyond his legislative service, Garrett practiced law in Coosa County and was involved in various civic and business activities. He served as a trustee of the University of Alabama. He died in 1921.
