Elite 25
The Elite 25, primarily associated with college baseball, refers to a group of players selected annually for demonstrating exemplary qualities beyond athletic performance. These student-athletes are honored for their academic excellence, character, leadership, and commitment to community service. The award is presented in conjunction with the NCAA championships across various sports, recognizing individuals who have reached the championship site while maintaining a high grade point average.
To be eligible for the Elite 25 award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically, have completed a minimum of two full years at their institution, be an active member of the team roster at the championship site, and meet specific GPA requirements (typically a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale). The award aims to acknowledge and celebrate the balance between athletic achievement and academic dedication among college athletes. The player with the highest GPA at each championship site is recognized with the Elite 25 award.
