Fanzara

Fanzara is a municipality located in the province of Castellón, in the Valencian Community, Spain. Situated in the Alto Mijares comarca, it is known for its participation in the "Museu Inacabat d'Art Urbà" (Unfinished Museum of Urban Art, or MIAU), a project that has transformed the town into a vibrant hub of street art.

The village's economy historically relied on agriculture, particularly olives and almonds. However, in recent years, tourism driven by the MIAU project has become increasingly important.

Fanzara's population is relatively small, and like many rural Spanish communities, it has experienced demographic challenges. The municipality is administered by a local council headed by a mayor.

The MIAU project began in 2014 and has attracted artists from around the world to create murals and other art installations throughout the village. This initiative aimed to revitalize the community and promote cultural tourism. The artworks often reflect themes related to social justice, environmentalism, and local identity. The project has been lauded for its grassroots approach and community involvement.

Access to Fanzara is primarily by road. It is located inland, away from the coastal areas of Castellón.
