Jimmy Choo (fashion house)

Jimmy Choo is a British high fashion house specializing in luxury shoes, handbags, accessories and fragrances. The company was founded in 1996 by Malaysian couture shoe designer Jimmy Choo and British Vogue accessories editor Tamara Mellon.

Choo had been making bespoke shoes in London's East End for years before Mellon recognized his talent and proposed the brand partnership. The brand gained early popularity, particularly after being featured prominently in the television series Sex and the City.

Jimmy Choo is known for its sophisticated and glamorous designs, high-quality craftsmanship, and use of premium materials. The brand's shoes are often seen on celebrities and at high-profile events.

In 2001, Jimmy Choo sold his stake in the company. Tamara Mellon later left the company in 2011.

Jimmy Choo plc has been owned by Capri Holdings (formerly Michael Kors Holdings) since 2017. The brand continues to operate globally with a significant presence in major luxury markets.
