Luton Shelton
Luton Shelton (11 November 1985 – 17 January 2021) was a Jamaican professional footballer who played as a striker.
Shelton began his career at Harbour View in Jamaica before moving to Helsingborgs IF in Sweden. He subsequently played for Sheffield United in England, Vålerenga in Norway, Karabükspor in Turkey, and Volga Nizhny Novgorod in Russia. He also had a second spell with Harbour View.
Shelton was a key member of the Jamaican national team, earning 75 caps and scoring 35 goals, making him Jamaica's all-time leading goalscorer. He represented Jamaica at the CONCACAF Gold Cup and in World Cup qualifying matches.
His career was cut short due to a serious heart condition, which ultimately led to his early death at the age of 35. He is remembered as a prolific goalscorer and a significant figure in Jamaican football.
