Feoktistov (crater)
Feoktistov is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon, behind the eastern limb as seen from Earth. It is located to the northeast of the larger crater Tsiolkovskiy and southwest of Nadson.
The crater is characterized by a well-defined rim with terraces along the inner walls. The outer rampart is somewhat irregular and has been modified by subsequent impacts, but the overall shape is still clearly discernible. The interior floor is relatively level and marked by a central peak. There are also several smaller craters located within the interior.
Feoktistov is named after Soviet cosmonaut Konstantin Feoktistov. The crater was officially named by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in 1970. It is a relatively young crater in lunar geological terms.
