Bangers and Mash (TV series)
Bangers and Mash was a British television sitcom that aired from 1983 to 1984. It starred Mel Smith as Robert "Bangers" Bannister, a bumbling and inept security guard, and Kim Wilde as Gloria "Mash" Marsh, a young and ambitious journalist.
The series revolved around the unlikely friendship and working relationship between Bangers and Mash. Bangers' incompetence constantly put Mash's investigations at risk, leading to humorous and often chaotic situations. The show's humor was largely character-driven, relying on the contrasting personalities and the comedic talents of its leads.
While not a critical darling, Bangers and Mash gained a modest following during its run. Its appeal lay in its lighthearted nature and the popular pairing of Smith and Wilde, who brought a recognizable energy to their roles. The series ran for two seasons. It has subsequently been repeated on various UK television channels.
