Fred Jinks (cricketer)
Fred Jinks (born Frederick Jinks, 1869 – 1942) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1895 and 1906.
Jinks was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm slow bowler. He made his debut for Derbyshire in the 1895 season against Lancashire, scoring 11 and 10 and taking one wicket. He played regularly for the club until 1906. His best season was 1896, when he scored 862 runs and took 44 wickets. He achieved his top score of 141 against Hampshire in the same year. He also bowled well in 1900, taking 54 wickets.
Jinks played 139 first-class matches and scored 4,414 runs at an average of 18.39, with a top score of 141. He took 248 wickets at an average of 28.67 with a best performance of 6 for 68.
