1969 Scottish League Cup final (April)
The 1969 Scottish League Cup final (April) was the final of the Scottish League Cup competition, played on 5 April 1969 at Hampden Park, Glasgow. The match was contested between Celtic and Hibernian. Celtic won the match 6–2, securing their fifth League Cup title. Joe McBride and Billy McNeill both scored two goals for Celtic, with Bobby Lennox and George Connelly also adding to the scoreline. Hibernian's goals were scored by Peter Marinello and Eric Stevenson. The match was played in front of a crowd of 74,521. This final completed Celtic's League Cup campaign in the re-arranged 1968-69 season, after the original final scheduled for October 1968 was postponed due to an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease.
