Gottfried Weilenmann (cyclist, born 1920)
Gottfried Weilenmann (1920 – 2018) was a Swiss cyclist, primarily known for his success in cyclo-cross. He was born in Dänikon, Switzerland. Weilenmann won the Cyclo-cross World Championships in 1951 and 1952. He also achieved podium finishes in the World Championships, taking silver in 1950 and bronze in 1953. In addition to his World Championship successes, Weilenmann was also a multiple-time Swiss national cyclo-cross champion. His career spanned the early years of organized cyclo-cross racing, solidifying his place as a pioneer in the sport.
