Cosby (TV series)

Cosby is an American sitcom television series that aired on CBS from September 16, 1996, to April 28, 2000. It starred Bill Cosby and Phylicia Rashad, reuniting them from their previous successful sitcom, The Cosby Show.

The series was based on the British sitcom One Foot in the Grave. Bill Cosby played Hilton Lucas, a disgruntled airline worker who is forced into early retirement due to downsizing. The show centered on Hilton's struggles to adjust to retired life, his often-contentious relationship with his wife, Ruth (Phylicia Rashad), a physical therapist, and their interactions with their adult children and grandchildren.

The show's humor often derived from Hilton's grumpy demeanor and his tendency to complain about everyday inconveniences. However, the series also explored themes of family, aging, and adapting to life changes.

Supporting cast members included Madeline Kahn (who passed away during the third season), Doug E. Doug, Erika Alexander, and T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh.

The series achieved moderate success during its run, but its legacy has been overshadowed by the numerous sexual assault allegations made against Bill Cosby in the years following its cancellation.
