Radunica
Radunica is a historical district located in the city of Split, Croatia. It is known for its narrow, winding streets, traditional stone houses, and strong community spirit. Historically, Radunica was inhabited primarily by descendants of farmers from the nearby village of Gata, who migrated to Split during the 15th and 16th centuries to find work and a better life. These settlers are known as "Fetivi."
Radunica is celebrated annually with a traditional festival known as "Days of Radunica" or "Dani Radunice," which showcases local traditions, food, and music. The festival is a significant cultural event, preserving and promoting the district's unique identity and heritage. The area’s architecture reflects a vernacular style, adapted to the local climate and materials available, providing a glimpse into the past way of life in Split.
