Guban (instrument)

The guban is a Philippine musical instrument belonging to the idiophone family. It is a bamboo slit drum traditionally used by various indigenous groups in the Philippines, particularly in Mindanao.

The instrument is typically constructed from a section of bamboo, often a mature and relatively thick-walled piece. A slit is cut along the length of the bamboo, creating two vibrating tongues or beaters.
