Ashley Westwood (footballer, born 1990)

Ashley Westwood (born 1 April 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Charlotte FC in Major League Soccer.

Westwood began his career at Crewe Alexandra, progressing through their youth academy. He made his professional debut for Crewe in 2008 and became a key player for the club, helping them achieve promotion to League One in 2012.

In January 2014, Westwood joined Aston Villa of the Premier League. He quickly became a regular in the Villa side, known for his work rate, passing ability, and set-piece delivery. He remained with Aston Villa until January 2017, when he signed for Burnley.

Westwood was a consistent presence in the Burnley midfield for several seasons. He established himself as a reliable and experienced player for the club, contributing both defensively and offensively.

In January 2023, Westwood signed for Charlotte FC in Major League Soccer.
