Al Jumum
Al Jumum is a location situated in Saudi Arabia, historically significant as the site of battles and events in early Islamic history. It is located in the region of present-day Medina Province.
Historically, Al Jumum is best known for being the location of the Battle of al-Jumum in 624 CE (2 AH). This was a raid led by Muhammad against a Qurayshi caravan travelling from Mecca to Syria. The caravan escaped before Muhammad's forces arrived, but the Muslims were able to capture some abandoned provisions.
The area holds importance in Islamic historiography due to its association with these early military campaigns and its reflection on the socio-political landscape of the nascent Islamic community in Medina.
