Tony Kelly (Australian footballer)

Tony Kelly (born 28 December 1966) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club and the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).

Kelly, a rover and forward pocket player, was recruited from Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) club Collegians. He made his senior VFL debut for Collingwood in 1986, playing 40 games and kicking 48 goals for the Magpies over four seasons. He was known for his tackling pressure and ability to crumb goals.

In 1990, Kelly transferred to Essendon. He played 23 games and kicked 18 goals for the Bombers over two seasons before retiring from AFL football at the end of the 1991 season.

After his AFL career, Kelly continued to be involved in football, playing and coaching at local levels.
