Star Power (TV program)
Star Power was a Philippine television talent show that aired on GMA Network from October 24, 2010, to February 13, 2011. The show aimed to discover the next big singing heartthrob and singing sweetheart in the Philippines. Hosted by multi-awarded singer and actress Regine Velasquez, the show featured a panel of judges who provided critiques and guidance to the contestants.
The program followed a format similar to other talent search shows, with weekly performances by the contestants showcasing their vocal abilities and stage presence. Throughout the competition, contestants underwent training and mentorship to hone their skills. Public voting, combined with the judges' scores, determined which contestants would advance to the next round.
Star Power ultimately crowned two winners: one male "singing heartthrob" and one female "singing sweetheart." The winners received prizes, including cash, a recording contract with GMA Records, and opportunities to appear in other GMA Network programs.
While the show had a relatively short run, it provided a platform for aspiring singers and contributed to the landscape of Philippine television talent competitions.
