David Dalrymple (Australian politician)
David Dalrymple (born 28 November 1944) is an Australian politician who served as a Liberal National Party (LNP) member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly from 2004 to 2015, representing the seat of Hervey Bay.
Dalrymple was born in Maryborough, Queensland. Prior to entering politics, he worked as a cane farmer and small businessman in the Hervey Bay region.
He entered state parliament at the 2004 Queensland state election, defeating the incumbent Labor member Andrew McNamara. He retained his seat at the 2006, 2009, and 2012 elections.
During his time in parliament, Dalrymple served on various committees and held shadow ministerial portfolios, including shadow minister for tourism. He was known as a strong advocate for the Hervey Bay region.
Dalrymple retired from parliament at the 2015 Queensland state election.
