This Gun for Hire (1991 film)

This Gun for Hire is a 1991 American action thriller film directed by Lou Antonio and starring Robert Wagner, Nancy Allen, and John Anderson. It is a remake of the 1942 film of the same name, which was based on the 1936 novel A Gun for Sale by Graham Greene.

The film centers on Raven (played by Robert Wagner), a professional hitman who is double-crossed after completing a job for a corrupt industrialist. Raven, left for dead, seeks revenge on those who betrayed him. He encounters Ellen (Nancy Allen), a singer who unknowingly becomes entangled in Raven's pursuit of justice.

Unlike the 1942 version which was set during World War II, the 1991 film takes place in a more contemporary setting. The plot generally follows the same narrative structure as the original, with Raven as a morally ambiguous anti-hero attempting to settle scores while being pursued by both the police and the individuals who sought his services initially.
