Liar, Liar (novel series)

The Liar, Liar novel series is a light novel series written by Haruki Kuou and illustrated by konomi (volumes 1-9) and Kino Hinoki (volume 10 onwards). The series follows Hiroto Shinohara, a transfer student to Academy Island, a prestigious school where students battle each other using "Games" and star rankings to determine their social standing. Hiroto, through a series of lies and manipulations, quickly becomes the school's top student despite his true abilities. The story revolves around Hiroto's constant need to maintain his fabricated persona and the challenges and intrigues that arise from his deception.

The series falls into the genres of action, comedy, school life, and psychological themes. It has been adapted into a manga and an anime television series. The anime adaptation premiered in July 2023. The novels are published by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J imprint.
