Richard Jefferies (canoeist)

Richard Jefferies (born January 1, 1955) is an American slalom canoeist who competed in the 1970s. He won a bronze medal in the C-1 event at the 1979 World Championships in Jonquière. Jefferies also competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, finishing 13th in the C-1 event. He is recognized for his contributions to the sport of whitewater canoeing and his dedication to developing younger paddlers. His career highlights include multiple national championships and participation in numerous international competitions. Following his competitive career, Jefferies remained involved in the canoeing community as a coach and mentor.
