Terry Hayes (politician)
Terry Hayes (born October 1, 1955) is an American politician from Maine. She served as an independent member of the Maine House of Representatives representing Buckfield, Hartford and Hebron from 2006 to 2014. She also served as Maine State Treasurer from 2015 to 2019.
Hayes ran for Governor of Maine as an independent candidate in 2018. Her campaign focused on issues such as workforce development, access to healthcare, and fiscal responsibility. She finished fourth in the election. Prior to her political career, Hayes worked in the private sector and was also involved in community organizations. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Maine at Farmington.
