Windwatt
Windwatt is a portmanteau of "wind" and "watt," commonly used (though not formally defined within scientific or engineering standards) as a conceptual unit representing the power generation potential or actual power output of a wind turbine or wind farm, measured in watts. It's often employed in contexts where emphasizing the renewable energy source (wind) is desired. The term highlights the link between wind energy and electrical power. While "watt" is the standard SI unit of power, "windwatt" isn't a recognized unit of measurement and serves primarily as a descriptive or marketing term. Its use is often informal and aimed at public understanding rather than technical specificity. For precise technical communication, power output should always be expressed in standard units like watts (W), kilowatts (kW), or megawatts (MW).
