Tommy Barnett (pastor)
Tommy Barnett (born 1936) is an American pastor and author, best known for founding and pastoring Dream City Church (formerly Phoenix First Assembly) in Phoenix, Arizona. He is also the founder of the Los Angeles Dream Center, a megachurch and outreach center that provides resources and support to individuals and families in need.
Barnett began his ministry in 1954 and served as pastor in various churches before founding Phoenix First Assembly in 1979. Under his leadership, the church experienced significant growth, becoming one of the largest Assemblies of God congregations in the United States. He transitioned to the role of founder and overseer of Dream City Church, passing the senior pastor role to his son, Luke Barnett.
In 1994, Barnett founded the Los Angeles Dream Center, which has become a major force in urban missions. The Dream Center offers a wide range of services, including food distribution, shelter, addiction recovery programs, job training, and educational opportunities. It partners with numerous organizations and volunteers to address the needs of the underserved population in Los Angeles.
