James McDonald (Irish politician)
James McDonald (1881 – 1955) was an Irish politician. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Tipperary constituency from 1927 to 1937 and again from 1938 to 1943.
McDonald was first elected to Dáil Éireann at the June 1927 general election as a Cumann na nGaedheal TD for the Tipperary constituency. He was re-elected at the September 1927, 1932, and 1933 general elections. He lost his seat at the 1937 general election but regained it at the 1938 general election. He lost his seat for the final time at the 1943 general election and did not stand for election again. His political career spanned a significant period in the early years of the Irish Free State and the later evolution of the state.
