Peter O'Brien (Medal of Honor)
Peter O'Brien (1842 – December 16, 1894) was a Union Army soldier during the American Civil War. He received the Medal of Honor for his actions at the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, Virginia, on May 12, 1864, where he captured the flag of the 8th Alabama Infantry. O'Brien served as a Sergeant in Company H, 20th Massachusetts Infantry. His Medal of Honor was awarded on January 19, 1865. He is buried in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline, Massachusetts.
