Jarowair

The Jarowair people are an Aboriginal Australian group traditionally associated with lands in southwestern Queensland, Australia. Their territory is situated within the broader cultural and linguistic region of the Maranoa.

The Jarowair language, also referred to as Jarowarga, is considered to be either extinct or highly endangered. Details regarding the language's structure and vocabulary are limited due to the paucity of surviving records and speakers.

Historical records indicate that the Jarowair people experienced significant disruption and displacement following European settlement in the 19th century. This included frontier violence, dispossession from their traditional lands, and forced assimilation policies.
