Boys Night Out (band)
Boys Night Out was a Canadian rock band formed in Burlington, Ontario in 2001. They are often categorized as a post-hardcore or emo band, though their sound evolved throughout their career.
The band consisted of Connor Smith (vocals, guitar), Jeff Davis (guitar), Dave Costa (bass), and Ben Arseneau (drums). Early in their career, they gained a following through online music communities and self-released EPs.
Boys Night Out released three full-length studio albums: Make Yourself Sick (2003), Trainwreck (2005), and Boys Night Out (2007). Make Yourself Sick is considered by many fans and critics to be their defining work, showcasing their blend of aggressive instrumentation and melodic vocals. Trainwreck saw the band experimenting with a more diverse range of sounds, and their self-titled album marked a shift towards a more mature and introspective lyrical approach.
The band toured extensively throughout North America and Europe, sharing stages with acts such as Alexisonfire, Thrice, and The Used.
Boys Night Out announced their indefinite hiatus in 2007, citing burnout and the desire to pursue other interests. They have reunited for sporadic performances since then.
