Thebe (Greek myth)

In Greek mythology, Thebe (Θήβη) is a name associated with several figures, most prominently:

• The wife of King Zethus: This Thebe was the daughter of Asopus and Metope. She married Zethus, the co-ruler of Thebes (along with his brother Amphion), and bore him a son named Itylus.

• An Amazon: Thebe was one of the Amazons, a race of warrior women.

• A nymph: A nymph named Thebe was associated with the region of Thebes. She is sometimes considered the eponym of the city.
