Bidokht

Bidokht is a city located in the southern part of Khorasan Razavi province in Iran. It is situated approximately 20 kilometers south of the city of Gonabad. Bidokht is known for its historical significance, particularly its association with the Nematollahi Sufi order. The tomb of Sultan Ali Shah Gonabadi, the Qutb (spiritual leader) of the Nematollahi Gonabadi order, is located in Bidokht, making it a pilgrimage site for followers of this Sufi tradition.

The city's history dates back several centuries, and the surrounding region contains evidence of ancient settlements. Agriculture, particularly the cultivation of saffron and pistachios, plays a significant role in the local economy. Bidokht experiences a semi-arid climate, characteristic of much of the Iranian plateau. The population is primarily Persian speaking and adheres to Shia Islam.
