Patrick Murphy (softball)
Patrick Murphy is the head coach of the University of Alabama's softball team, a position he has held since the 1999 season. He is widely recognized as one of the most successful coaches in NCAA Division I softball.
Murphy's tenure at Alabama has been marked by consistent winning seasons and numerous accolades. Under his leadership, the Crimson Tide have won the 2012 Women's College World Series, reached the Women's College World Series thirteen times (as of 2024), and captured multiple Southeastern Conference (SEC) regular season and tournament titles.
Before becoming the head coach at Alabama, Murphy served as an assistant coach for the Crimson Tide softball program from 1995 to 1998. He was instrumental in building the foundation for the program's future success.
Murphy is known for his strategic coaching style, strong recruiting abilities, and dedication to developing his players both on and off the field. He has been named the SEC Coach of the Year multiple times and has coached numerous All-Americans.
