Joy Katz

Joy Katz is an American poet, writer, and professor. She is known for her collections of poetry that often explore themes of family, memory, history, and the human condition with a distinctive voice blending intellect, humor, and vulnerability.

Katz's published works include, but are not limited to, the poetry collections Fabulae (Southern Illinois University Press, 2022), All You Can Ever Know (University of Chicago Press, 2015), The Garden Room (Tupelo Press, 2006), and Correspondence (University of Chicago Press, 2001). Her work has appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies.

Beyond her writing, Katz has also worked as an educator. She has held teaching positions at various universities and colleges, sharing her expertise in poetry and creative writing with students. She has also served as a mentor to emerging writers.
