Al Baraha
Al Baraha (also spelled Al Barahaa) is a historical district and locality situated in Deira, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Dubai, located along the Deira side of Dubai Creek. Al Baraha is bounded to the north by the Persian Gulf, to the south by Al Muraqqabat, to the east by Al Ras, and to the west by Al Rigga.
Historically, Al Baraha was a significant commercial hub, owing to its proximity to the creek and its importance as a trade route. It was a focal point for dhows transporting goods to and from various countries.
The district is characterized by a mix of traditional architecture and modern developments. You can find souks (markets), traditional houses, and more contemporary buildings in the area. Al Baraha Park is a well-known landmark in the district, providing a green space for residents and visitors.
Al Baraha is a diverse community, home to people from various nationalities. The area remains a bustling center of activity, albeit with a blend of its historical character and ongoing modernization. While the main commercial focus has shifted to other areas of Dubai, Al Baraha retains its significance as a residential and historically important part of the city.
