John Bond (jurist)

John Bond (dates unknown) was an English jurist and Master of Trinity Hall, Cambridge. He served as Regius Professor of Civil Law at the University of Cambridge from 1547 until his death. Bond was instrumental in the early development of the study of Roman law in England. Though details of his life are scarce, his impact on the legal curriculum at Cambridge is noted for its lasting contribution to legal education. He advocated for a more comprehensive and rigorous study of the Corpus Juris Civilis, which shaped subsequent legal scholarship. He died around 1550.
