Cecil Wilson (politician)

Cecil Wilson (born August 16, 1954) is an American politician who served as a Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 67th district from 2000 to 2008. The 67th district, located in Sarasota County, included portions of Sarasota and Longboat Key.

Wilson was born in Sarasota, Florida. He graduated from Riverview High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of South Florida. Before entering politics, he worked in the insurance industry.

During his tenure in the Florida House, Wilson served on various committees, including those related to insurance, transportation, and education. He was known for his advocacy for environmental protection, affordable housing, and public education.

Wilson was term-limited in 2008 and could not seek re-election to the Florida House. Since leaving the legislature, he has remained involved in community activities and Democratic Party politics in Sarasota County.
