The Descendants (2015 film)

The Descendants is a 2015 American musical fantasy adventure-comedy television film directed by Kenny Ortega. It premiered on Disney Channel on July 31, 2015. The film stars Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, and Sofia Carson as the teenage children of Disney villains Maleficent, Jafar, Cruella de Vil, and the Evil Queen, respectively.

The story follows these villainous offspring as they are given a chance at redemption by being allowed to attend Auradon Prep, a school for the children of Disney heroes. Their parents, however, have other plans and pressure them to steal the Fairy Godmother's wand and free them from their island prison. The film explores themes of good versus evil, choices and consequences, and the pressure of parental expectations. It features original songs and choreography.
