John Fitzgerald (footballer)
John Fitzgerald is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Fitzgerald was drafted by the Sydney Swans with pick number 10 in the 1993 AFL Draft. He played primarily as a defender. He made his AFL debut in 1995.
Fitzgerald played 88 games for the Swans between 1995 and 2001. He was known for his strong marking and reliable defensive play. He retired from AFL football at the end of the 2001 season.
Following his AFL career, Fitzgerald has been involved in various roles within the football community, including coaching at the local level.
