USS O-8
The USS O-8 (SS-69) was an O-class submarine of the United States Navy. She was commissioned in 1918 and served in the Atlantic during World War I, primarily on training duties and patrol. The O-8 conducted several war patrols but did not engage any enemy vessels. Following the war, she continued in service, participating in training exercises and fleet problems. USS O-8 was decommissioned in 1931 and struck from the Naval Vessel Register. She was subsequently scrapped. The O-8 represented an early generation of US submarines and played a role in the development of submarine warfare tactics and technology.
