Xu Lin (politician, born 1963)

Xu Lin (born June 1963) is a Chinese politician currently serving as the Communist Party Secretary of Guizhou.

Born in Shanghai, Xu Lin graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He spent a significant portion of his early career in Shanghai, working in various roles within the Shanghai Municipal Government.

Prior to his appointment as Party Secretary of Guizhou in October 2023, he served as the Minister of the State Council Information Office, a role he held from August 2018. Before that, he was the Deputy Director of the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC). His career has largely focused on media, information, and internet regulation. He has been involved in the implementation of policies related to internet content control and online censorship.
