Ipf (mountain)
The Ipf is a mountain located in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, near the town of Bopfingen. It is a prominent landmark in the Ostalbkreis district, rising to a height of approximately 668 meters (2,192 feet) above sea level. The Ipf is a popular destination for hikers and tourists, offering panoramic views of the surrounding Swabian Jura landscape.
The mountain has historical significance, having been the site of a Celtic settlement and later a medieval castle. Archaeological excavations have revealed traces of these past inhabitants. The "Ipfmess," a large annual folk festival, takes place at the foot of the mountain in Bopfingen and is a significant event in the region.
