Tall bike
A tall bike, also known as a giraffe bike, is a bicycle that has been modified by extending the frame and handlebars upward, placing the rider significantly higher than on a standard bicycle. This is typically achieved by welding additional frame sections or by constructing a completely new, taller frame.
The purpose of a tall bike is varied. Some riders construct them for novelty, entertainment, or to gain a unique perspective on their surroundings. The increased height provides better visibility in traffic and over obstacles, and some riders enjoy the challenge of mounting and riding such a unique vehicle.
Tall bikes are often associated with bicycle culture and art bikes, and they frequently appear at parades and cycling events. The construction of a tall bike is usually a DIY project, involving welding and fabrication skills.
Riding a tall bike requires practice and balance due to the higher center of gravity. Dismounting typically involves carefully leaning against a solid object or performing a controlled dismount onto the ground.
