Tom McCarthy (1980s pitcher)
Tom McCarthy (born July 18, 1961) is a former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1985 to 1988. He pitched primarily for the Milwaukee Brewers, appearing in 66 games over four seasons.
McCarthy was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 2nd round of the 1979 MLB amateur draft but did not sign. He was later drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 6th round of the 1982 MLB amateur draft and signed with them.
He made his major league debut on July 14, 1985, for the Brewers. He primarily served as a relief pitcher during his time in the majors. His MLB career ended in 1988.
