Len Smith (swimmer)

Len Smith (born August 28, 1938) is an American former competition swimmer. He represented the United States at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, where he won a silver medal in the 4×100-meter medley relay. Swimming the butterfly leg, his contribution helped the American team finish behind Australia. Prior to the Olympics, Smith set a world record in the 200-meter butterfly in 1957. He also won several national titles during his swimming career. After his swimming career, he remained involved in the sport as a coach.
