Andrew Jukes (surgeon)
Andrew Jukes (1848 – 1932) was a British surgeon and medical author known for his contributions to the fields of abdominal surgery and medical evangelism.
Born in Hull, England, Jukes qualified as a surgeon and practiced in both London and in China, where he worked as a medical missionary for the China Inland Mission (CIM). His surgical expertise included innovations in appendectomy techniques and the treatment of other abdominal ailments.
Beyond his medical practice, Jukes was a devout Christian and integrated his faith into his work. He believed in the power of both physical and spiritual healing, and actively sought opportunities to share his religious beliefs with his patients and colleagues.
