Pippa (doll)

Pippa is a miniature fashion doll that was first produced by Palitoy in the United Kingdom in 1965. Designed to be a smaller and more affordable alternative to larger fashion dolls like Barbie, Pippa stands at approximately 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) tall.

Pippa was marketed towards young girls and aimed to represent a relatable, everyday teenager rather than a glamorous adult. Her features are often described as more childlike and less overtly sexualized compared to her larger counterparts.

Pippa's success stemmed partly from her extensive wardrobe and accessories, which allowed for a wide variety of play scenarios. These items were sold separately, encouraging collecting and repeat purchases. Palitoy produced a diverse range of outfits representing different activities and lifestyles, from casual wear to formal attire.

The doll was popular throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, gaining a significant following in the UK and other European countries. Numerous manufacturers created similar miniature fashion dolls during this period, influenced by Pippa's success.

Production of Pippa dolls ceased in the late 1970s. However, she remains a collectible item, particularly for vintage toy enthusiasts. Original Pippa dolls and their associated accessories are often sought after by collectors.
