No Tomorrow (2016 film)
No Tomorrow is an American romantic comedy-drama television series that aired on The CW from October 4, 2016, to January 17, 2017. Developed by Corinne Brinkerhoff, Scott McCabe, and Tory Stanton, it is loosely based on the Brazilian television series Como Aproveitar o Fim do Mundo ("How to Enjoy the End of the World").
The series follows Evie Covington (Tori Anderson), a risk-averse procurement manager at a Seattle distribution center, who falls for Xavier Holliday (Joshua Sasse), a charismatic free spirit who believes the world will end in eight months and is living life to the fullest by completing his "Apocalyst," a list of things to do before the supposed apocalypse. Evie is initially skeptical but becomes increasingly drawn into Xavier's world and the idea of embracing spontaneity.
The show's plot revolves around Evie's attempts to balance her newfound adventurous spirit with her responsible nature and her relationships with her friends and family. The central conflict stems from the audience's and Evie's uncertainty regarding Xavier's apocalypse theory: is he truly onto something, or is he delusional?
No Tomorrow was canceled after one season. All 13 episodes are available on demand through various streaming services. The series was praised for its charm, lighthearted tone, and the chemistry between its leads, but criticized for occasionally uneven writing and a reliance on predictable romantic comedy tropes. The central premise of an impending apocalypse and the question of its validity provided an intriguing narrative hook, which was ultimately unresolved due to the cancellation.
