Siompu
Siompu is a small island located in the Wakatobi Regency of Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. It lies south of Buton Island and is part of the Tukangbesi Islands archipelago, which is now primarily known as Wakatobi.
Siompu is primarily inhabited by the Butonese people, who speak the Wolio language and other related languages. The island's economy is largely based on fishing, agriculture (including cassava and coconuts), and small-scale trading.
Like other islands in the Wakatobi National Park, Siompu is surrounded by coral reefs and boasts significant marine biodiversity. This makes it a potential destination for ecotourism, although infrastructure and tourism development are still limited.
The island's administrative structure falls under the Wakatobi Regency government. Detailed information regarding population statistics, specific cultural practices unique to Siompu, or prominent geographical features beyond its general location may require further research specific to Indonesian sources.
