Edmund Buckley (politician, born 1780)
Edmund Buckley (1780 – 1857) was a British businessman and politician.
Born in Greenfield, Saddleworth, Yorkshire, he was a member of the Buckley family prominent in the textile industry. He established himself as a cotton manufacturer and banker in Manchester.
Buckley entered Parliament as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Newcastle-under-Lyme in 1841, serving until 1847. He was a Conservative.
He was involved in various philanthropic and charitable endeavors, particularly those related to education and religious institutions.
He died in 1857.
