Richard Wyatt (cricketer)

Richard Wyatt (born December 2, 1855, died January 1, 1926) was an English first-class cricketer who played for Surrey and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in the late 19th century. A right-handed batsman, Wyatt was known for his solid defensive technique and occasional aggressive strokeplay.

Wyatt made his first-class debut for Surrey in 1878 and quickly established himself as a reliable member of the batting lineup. He was a consistent scorer, known for his ability to build long innings. Though he rarely achieved spectacular scores, his steadiness was valued by his team.

He represented Surrey until 1884. He also played a number of matches for the MCC throughout his career, often against university sides and other amateur elevens.

Following his playing career, Wyatt remained involved in cricket as an administrator and club member. He died in January 1926.
