Renusagar

Renusagar is an industrial township located in Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is primarily known for being the site of the Renusagar Power Division (Hindalco Industries Limited), a captive power plant that supplies electricity to Hindalco's aluminium smelter located in Renukoot. The township provides residential and infrastructural facilities for employees of the power plant and associated industries. The area derives its name from the nearby Rihand Dam and reservoir, also known as Govind Ballabh Pant Sagar. The economic activity of Renusagar is heavily dependent on the power plant and the surrounding industrial activities of Hindalco.
